Waldo Canyon Fire Assistance Fund Interim Report
At approximately noon on Saturday, June 23rd, 2012, the Waldo Canyon Fire was ignited killing two people, burning 346 homes and forcing the evacuation of over 32,000 local residents in its wake.
Within days, Pikes Peak United Way was gifted with $125,000 in seed money from the El Pomar Foundation to establish and administer the Waldo Canyon Fire Assistance Fund. It’s goal: to assist local nonprofits in meeting the immediate- and intermediate- needs of individuals and families in El Paso and Teller counties directly impacted by the fire.
In an effort to be transparent in our fiscal oversight, the following is a link to the 6-month interim report outlining to whom funds were allocated and how they were utilized to date.
