To achieve measurable, lasting change, we identify and build on community strengths by helping people find ways to contribute their time and talents to the issues for which they are passionate.  Volunteers provide leadership, oversight, and implementation supporting every aspect of United Way’s work: daily operations, fundraising, community investment, and financial practices.

Please join the ranks of these generous, energetic and compassionate volunteers as we continue to transform lives and create lasting change in our community.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Fund Allocations Committee - Teams of volunteers visit and evaluate agencies that requested funding from Pikes Peak United Way and/or City of Colorado Springs.  Then they determine the funding amount based on community needs and various programs' abilities to meet that need.  Time commitment is approximately 30 hours between mid-February and mid-May.

  • Make A Difference Month - This nation-wide volunteer initiative brings millions of Americans together to improve their communities and help neighbors in need.  The local event, Make a Difference Month, is organized by Pikes Peak United Way and Volunteer Pikes Peak.  This year, the event will mobilize more than five thousand volunteers during the month of October to help local non-profits.

  • Leaders in Giving Development Team Member - Team members are donors who contribute $1,000 or more annually and they help United Way expand and promote Leaders in Giving.  The committee is recruited in the Spring and in August each member will select 6 to 10 past donors or new prospects, from our solicitation list, who they know personally. Then in September the team members will personally contact each of their prospects and ask them to give a Leadership donation.  There are currently 85 team members who are contacting over 1200 prospects.

  • Campaign Council - This council is made up of local community leaders who volunteer to help Pikes Peak United Way organize and run its annual fundraising campaign. These volunteers are top executives and business leaders who gather to develop and implement sector-specific strategies to increase workplace giving as well as increase awareness about how Pikes Peak United Way identifies and responds to the most pressing needs of our community.

  • Quality of Life Vision Councils
Please contact us to volunteer.  Or visit Volunteer Pikes Peak for additional community volunteer opportunities.
