Volunteer & Make an Impact

Someone you
know
needs us.

Friends and Family in our community are dealing with more than you can see. Not having enough food. Eviction & housing anxiety. Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just…not sure what to do next.

That’s where Pikes Peak United Way steps in.

We connect them to real support — fast, free, and without judgment.
And honestly? We need people — like you — to help make that happen.

Don’t just care. Do something.

These are real people, real needs, and a real impact you can actually see. Even one hour of your time can help someone get food, find resources, or move toward stability.

No experience needed. No perfect way to help. Start where you are. We’ll meet you there.

When you share Pikes Peak United Way, you’re not just reposting. You’re opening doors for our friends and family.

Your voice reaches people we can’t reach alone.

And that actually makes a difference.

Your Voice =
Their Help

Here’s what real impact looks like.

Families in our community are working hard to build stability: finding jobs, increasing income, and creating a path forward. With the right support, things actually change.

-211 Caller
"I didn't think anyone would answer at 3 AM. 211 didn't just give me a number; they stayed on the line until I felt safe."
-211 Caller
“I needed help getting glasses and didn’t know where to go. After calling 211, I was able to find a place and get them within a week. That meant everything.”
- Sunny Side Market Shopper
“It’s more than just getting food, it’s relief. When food is one less thing to worry about, it changes everything for a family.”
Real stories. Real people. Real relief.

You don’t have to do everything to make a difference. But you can do something.

The Peak Progress (QLI) Report is a community effort to look at and evaluate different components of quality of life in the Pikes Peak Region. This project convenes volunteers, community members, and leaders from across the region (Vision Councils) to gather and evaluate data and create goals (referred to as “priority areas”) in various categories.

This report originated in 2007 after Howard Brooks and Jerry Smith recognized the need for benchmarking information and gathered the necessary community support and resources to publish the first edition. The 2019/2020 report seeks to move the report forward by not only focusing on indicators, but also looking for ways to take these findings and create actionable change and improve the quality of life in the Pikes Peak Region. To do this, we followed the original process of creating benchmarks by comparing the Pikes Peak Region to other regions in order to see how we are doing compared to other places in the United States, as well as looking at data over time.

This report is for anyone from a general citizen to an elected representative. Based on the foundation of community groups, networks, and resources that were assembled to develop it, this highly beneficial tool provides reliable and easy to understand data with the potential and proposed steps for actionable change.
